Learnings:
We had an opportunity to buy a minority share in a historic French basketball team.
Many voters in the community voted unsure. General sentiment showed people were stuck in the middle due to the lack of clear financial data, value capture for local & digital fans, and GTM plan for fan engagement. In the end, most erred on the side of caution and voted No or Unsure.
In the future, it would be encouraged to socialize large proposals like this beyond the team/pod working on it. A suggestion from Glad, âThe Int'l Team had a budget for communications in their last proposal but I personally didn't see anything from the Int'l team that tried to rally support in a visible way from the broad community.â

Socios Invest 100m into FC Barcelona to Accelerate Web3 Strategy
âThe partnership will see Socios.com owner and technology provider Chiliz invest $100M in Barça Studios to acquire a 24.5% stake in the Clubâs digital content creation and distribution hub.â

This strategic investment for Socios builds on the existing partnership with the Club as they continue to develop digital products, alternative revenue lines and expand their digital ecosystem. Fans can reap the rewards of âengage-to-earnâ Fan Tokens, and redeem rewards such as VIP tickets, merch and unique experiences, such as the chance to play on the pitch at the Camp Nou.
